Mostly algae belong to thallopyta so name some algae and it makes our food itself and algae move itself like euglena

Thallophyta is a division of the plant kingdom which include primitive forms of plant life. Different algae such as, green,red and brown algae are belongs to this division. Some example of thalloptytes are -

  • Spirogyra - It belongs to green algae. Spirogyra is a free floating algae found in fresh water, filamentous which consists of thin unbranched chains of cylindrical cells.
  • Volvox - It also belongs to green algae. It exists as a grand spherical colony. Each alga of the colony bears two flagella. Volvox is found in fresh water.
  • Chlorella - It is a single celled, green, fresh water algae. It is spherical in shape. It is truly nature's top super food, rich in vitamins, minerals and more.
  • Surgassum - It is a brown seaweed, floats in island-like masses. It is also called gulf weed or sea holly.
  • Batrachospermum - It is a red algae found in clear, cool and running streams or fresh water. It is ranging in colour from violet to blue-green.
