1. Himalayan rivers originate from Himalayan ranges and flow throughout the year whereas, peninsular rivers arise from Western Ghats and receive water only during a particular period.

2. Himalayan rivers are perennial but peninsular are non- perennial in nature.

3. Himalayan forms delta whereas, peninsular rivers forms estuary.

4. V-shaped valleys are formed by the Himalayan rivers whereas, the peninsular rivers form U-shaped valleys.
