Answer:

A disaster is a serious disruption occurring over a short or long period of time that causes widespread human, material, economic or environmental loss which exceeds the ability of the affected community or society to cope using its own resources. However, it has been found that disasters can be classified into three types: (1) natural; (2) man-made; and (3) hybrid. Meaning of tsunami–a long, high sea wave caused by an earthquake or other disturbance. Meaning of flood –an overflow of a large amount of water beyond its normal limits, especially over what is normally dry land. The primary types of mitigation actions to reduce long-term vulnerability are:

1. Local plans and regulations.

2. Structural projects.

3. Natural systems protection.

4. Education programs.

5. Preparedness and response actions
