You can either use the following conversation or develop similar one using ideas from it:

Student A: Hey, I had been itching to talk to you very urgently about our friends!

Student B: Really! What happened?

Student A: Nothing new! They avoid playing outdoor games. They rather prefer watching TV or spending time with their laptops, tabs, or smart phones!

Student B: True! But this will have serious implications on their health. They need to be told how essential it is for them to play games and sports outside for their proper physical growth and development.

Student A: Well I was wondering if we could help them encourage play outdoor games and wean them off TV and other gadgets a little bit. You know there are so many channels available, some of them are quite inappropriate. They might get addicted to such channels, which will further leave them worse off.

Student B: We must do something. If they don’t play games, they will miss so much. ‘A healthy mind lives in a healthy body’. Besides, sports and games are undoubtedly the building blocks of the health and character of children. Their importance in the over-all and holistic development of children cannot be denied.

Student A: I agree with you. Games teach us many values such as time management, concentration and focus, sportsmanship, teamwork etc. Not playing games means missing all these skills and values.

Student B: What can we do? We have already tried counseling them many times.

Student A: We need to do more than counseling. We must talk to the principal to include more sports programmes and competitions during the academic calendar.

Student B: Yes, the school can start various sports club in the evening and with parents’ cooperation the students attending these clubs can be made mandatory.

Student A: It is a good idea. Once the students get the taste and thrill of playing games, they will find them more attractive and beneficial to them. They will willingly start playing and participating in outdoor games.

Student A: That sounds great. I think we should go and share our ideas with the principal.
