I think ...this problem. Solved if the friends of boy suggests. His father to let her boy take arts as he was good in geography. And avoid. To opt for science ..i think peer pressure is sufficient. To resolve this problem

according to me ...
(I) he should tell his parents that he has no interest in science so he wouldn't be able to enjoy that subject and when we have no interest in it we can't succeed in it too and if he somehow manages to pass also it would be difficult to make his future life happier because he will have no interested in his work.
(II) He could be an IAS officer, a professor, a historian, a geologist etc…
