Answer:
Explanation:
Let the initial velocity of the body at rest,u=0.
A force 'F' is applied on the body and it attempts the velocity 'v' after moving a distance 's'.
[a is the acceleration of the body]
Now ,
From v^2 =u^2+2as, we get,
v^2=u^2+2as
v^2=(0)^2+2as [ u=0 ]
v^2=0+2as
v^2=2as
s=v^2/2a
Now,we know that,
Work done by the body=Kinetic energy of the body
=F×s
=F×v^2/2a
=m×a×v^2/2a
=mv^2/2
=1/2mv^2
This,it is proved that the Kinetic energy of a body of mass m moving with velocity v is given by 1/2mv^2.
Hope this will help you.
