Answer:

hope its help u....

Step-by-step explanation:

px^2+5x+r = (x-2)(x-1/2)

px^2+5x+r = x^2-(5/2) x + 1

Match the coefficient of x^2

p = 1

Match the coefficient of r

r = 1

p=r

Here is your answer....

if x = 2 and x = 1/2 are factors of given equation then we will place the value of x in given equation.....

firstly take x = 2

p(2)^2 + 10 + r = 0

4p + r = -10.......(1)

now take x = 1/2

p(1/2)^2 + 5/2 + r = 0

1/4 p + r = -5/2........(2)

multiply equation (2) by 16

4p + 16r = -40.......(3)

now subtract equation 1 from 3

4p + 16r - 4p - r = -40 + 10

15r = -30

r = -2

put value in equation 1

4p - 2 = -10

4p = -8

we can write -8 as 4r

4p = 4r

p = r

so option d is correct answer...

hope this will help you...
