Catenation and tetravalent are the properties of Carbon

Catenation allows the carbon to self bond itself and form a chain,branch or ring structure

Tetravalency allows the carbon to form a bond with other elements to form a structure

Carbon has various allotropes

Diamond is the strongest while graphite is the weakest
