Answer:

There are four mathematical properties which involve addition. The properties are the commutative, associative, additive identity and distributive properties. Additive Identity Property: The sum of any number and zero is the original number. For example 5 + 0 = 5.

Properties of addition are...

  • Associative property
  • Closure property
  • Commutative property
  • Additive inverse

In associative ...

a + (b + c )  =  (a + b) + c = (a + c) + b

e.g. = 2 + (3 + 4) = (2 + 3) + 4 = (2 + 4) + 3

ans = 2 + 7 =  5 + 4 = 6 + 3

ans = 9 = 9 = 9

So, in associative property we can group any term in brackets.

In closure property....

a + b = c

e.g. = 2 + 6 = 8

so, in closure property we do simple calculation.

In commutative property....

a + b = b + a

e.g. = 2 + 6 = 6 + 2

ans = 8 = 8

So, in commutative we can interchange the digits.

In additive inverse...

a  = -a

e.g.  = 5 = -5

e.g.2 =  -9 = 9

In additive inverse we change the positive no into negative or negative no into positive.

Hope you understand...
