There are 360 longitudes and they all intersect each other.
All the longitudes pass from the poles.
If two opposite longitudes are taken they can form a great circle.
They are used in knowing the time.

• All Longitudes are of equal length.

• Longitudes cross the Latitudes at right angles (90°).

• The distance between any two longitudes decreases as one moves away from the equator towards the poles.

• Longitudes are marked in degrees (0°) and minutes (‘ ), where 60°’=1°
