Properties of metals
1. Under normal pressure, all metals except Mercury, are solid at room temperature.
2. Most metals except gold and copper are silvery-grey in colour. Copper is reddish-brown and gold is golden yellow.
3. All metals are shiny. The characteristics shine of metals is called metallic lustre.
4. Most metals are hard except sodium and potassium. Sodium and potassium can be easily cut with a knife.
5. Metals have high tensile strength.
6. Metals are malleable.
7. Metals are ductile.
8. Metals are good conductor of heat and electricity.
9. Metals, except sodium and potassium have high densities.
10. Metals are sonorous.
Properties of Non-metal
1. Non -metals may occur as solids, liquids or gases at room temperature.
2. Non-metals have different colours
3. Non-metals have dull appearance i.e they do not shine.
4. Non-metals are neither ductile nor malleable.
5. Non-metals do not conduct heat and electricity.
6. Non-metals usually have low densities and are soft.
7. Non-metals have low tensile strength.
8. Non-metals except graphite have low and boiling points.
9. Non-metals do not produce sound when hit with an object.

Hope it helps!
