Properties of Ionic Compounds. Ionic Compounds have high boiling and melting points as they're very strong and require a lot of energy to break. The electrostatic forces of attraction between oppositely charged ions lead to the formation of ions. These compounds are brittle and break into small pieces easily.

Hey Mate!!
Here's your answer!!
Physical nature of Ionic compounds: Ionic compounds are solids and are somewhat hard because of the strong force of attraction between the positive and negative ions. These compounds are usually crystalline in structure. They are brittle and break into small pieces easily when pressure is applied.
Short answer: Ionic compounds usually have crystalline structure which are somewhat hard because of the strong force of attraction between the positive and negative ions. They are also brittle in nature.
Answer given by referring to NCERT book. So it is 100% certified.
