Organizing your school Inter House sports competition is like organizing a Mini Olympic games. It is time to impress the parents and make them feel proud of their children's school.

Remember  some of them may be attending the Inter House sports event with their friends and neighbours. It is probably your best opportunity to sell your school to the public...so plan to have an excellent event....go the extra mile to highlight all the laudable things your school have achieved and is known for.

Your venue must be made as conducive enough in terms of security and a smooth playing ground for sporting activities. There is nothing wrong to use rented venue if your school doesn't  have a good pitch. Well, Inter House sports event can also be seen as an opportunity to develop and upgrade your school sporting infrastructures.

Organizing a school inter house sports competition takes four stages: Planning, Preparation, Execution and Post event.

Arguably, planning is probably the most important stage. If your school management gets it right and follow their plan through, the Inter house sports competition will come out excellently well.

If you are planning to stage an Inter House Sports Competition in your School, the first thing is to constitute a Local Organzing Committee (LOC).  The LOC will be saddled with the organization and administration of the InterHouse Sports.

Elect or select a self-motivating person to be the chairman of the LOC... give the committee your term of reference... Let them divide themselves into sub-Committees

Answer:

In our quest to promote academic excellence and encourage scholarly behavior among students, SKP Vanitha International School has organized an STORY WRITING AND STORY TELLING COMPETITION for the classes I to VIII .

For the students of class LKG to III a story telling competition was held. The students participated with their tremendous effort to make this event a successful one. The stories that they narrated were moral based and these young story tellers used a variety of props to make their stories interesting and expressive. Each story concluded with a moral highlighting the different values of life. Enthusiasm and passion of the students were also witnessed by the teachers and judges. The judges for this event were Mrs. Vidhya Muthu Kumar correspondent of Isha Vidhyalaya Nursery and Primary school, Mrs. Subha a Soft Skill Trainer and Mrs. Bhuvana Sr. Teacher from SKP Vanitha Matriculation School. The judges appreciated the outstanding performance by the students.

For Grades 4 and 5, a picture prompt was given and students had to build up their writing piece around the picture. They came up with compelling coherent short stories containing well-organized features, characters, dialogues and climax based on the picture given and wrote beautiful reflective pieces which were original and self-expressive.

The students of Grade 6 to 8 had to build up the story by using the given hints. It was intriguing to read the ideas they came up with. They travelled through space and wished they could turn around the events so that peace reigned. They imagined being there when there was a breakthrough in inventions or with great warriors who held absolute sway.

The stories seemed to reveal the whole gamut of human emotions. Moreover, the competition sent a message across to the students that everything they feel or say about a theme is worthwhile, thus favouring self-expression. Indeed their thoughts and feelings were bolstered by their skill. Many students turned out to be great writers as they expressed themselves with clarity and precision.
