  • As the national lockdown to tackle the proliferation of the coronavirus pandemic in South Africa (CaOVID-19) is presently in full force, numerous people would feel increased restlessness, ambiguity, disorientation, and social isolation.
  • Although this "feeling" is fully "understandable", given the unexpected nature of the situation, it is crucial to find ways to cope & manage any additional stress, particularly for those pre-disposed to psychological/mental problems.

  2. To prevent  the pandemic from being too overwhelming & distracting, limit media & social network reporting. Ensure that you obtain news and other information related to the Pandemic from only trustworthy and credible  sources.
  3. Understand and accept your feelings and your capacity to control things and take in your stride only that what you can manage.
  4. Try to engage in things that is more constructive & creative which would help boost the mood and spirit.
  5. For those people such as relatives and friends who do not live within your homes, try and stay connecting to them through technology and ensure that they are safe and healthy. When your loved ones are safe and healthy, this would stress you less and can avoid added mental tension
  6. Where the person is under medication due to ailments or regular health problems, it is crucial for them to continue taking their medicines and as prescribed. This is crucial since any problems with the present health issues can be aggravate mental issues
