I'll give some of the pros and cons that we experience in our daily lives.
Pros: friction provides a resistive force to the motion of objects. Without it, nothing around us can stay in place. So friction helps to keep objects stationary. When driving on wet surfaces, friction helps to provide more stability and control for the moving object.
Cons: in general, friction on cars means that you need to keep pumping petrol to the engines to keep the car moving. Friction in windmills means that we can't reach 100% efficiency when using renewable energy from wind, because friction produces wasteful heat energy. If you are running and you fall on a rough surface, frictional force can cause injury on your skin.
