For many years now, the waterbodies and mangroves of Goa have been under threat from encroachment by builders.

Arturo D’Souza has been a key member of ‘Save Bondvol Lake’, a people’s movement to protect the century-old waterbody in the village of Santa Cruz in Goa. He filed a Public Interest Litigation in the High Court in 2017 and continued to lend his support to the movement.
