The Proterospongia is a connecting link between A) Protozoa and porifera.

Proterospongia is a genus containing rare single celled organisms that are aquatic. They are several cells embedded in a jelly like matrix. They belong to the choanoflagellate class.

Since they are excellent in colony forming techniques, the scientists always study them for their excellent intercellular signalling and adhesion mechanisms. They form several shapes of colonies starting from single chains to astral assemblies.
