given that ✓2 is irrational, prove that ✓2+ 3/✓2 is an irrational number.

ANSWER⤵️

Let \: x =  \sqrt{2}  +  \frac{3}{ \sqrt{2} } \:  is \: a \: rational \: number

x  -  \frac{3}{ \sqrt{2} }  =  \sqrt{2}

since X is rational then

x -  \frac{3}{ \sqrt{2} } is \: also \: a \: rational

and it also states that ✓2 is a rational number which is a contradiction

⇒ HENCE \:  \sqrt{2}  +  \frac{3}{ \sqrt{2} } is \: an \: irrational \: number
