Here is your answer mate;

5x+y-2 = 0-----------------------(1)

5x+y-8 = 0 ----------------------(2)

For equations to be parallel:

a₁/a₂ = b₁/b₂ ≠ c₁/c₂

5/5 = 1/1 ≠2/8

1/1 = 1/1 ≠1/4

Therefore ,

These lines are not parallel.

Equation of a line is in the form y=mx +c,where m is the slope

In equation. (i)

y=-5x+2

Hence slope=-5

In equation (ii)

y=-5x+8

Hence slope =-5

Now if 2 lines are parallel to each other , their slopes must be equal

Slope of (i)=-5

Slope of(ii)=-5

-5=-5

Hence the two lines are parallel
