let a=2
2^1=2
2^2=4
2^3=8
2^4=16
now
2^4/2=16/2=8=2^3
2^3/2=8/2=4=2^2
2^2/2=4/2=2=2^1
2^1/2=2/2=1
this should be equal to 2^0 due to the pattern observed
therefore a^0=1
(if u want this completely in terms of a then just replace 2 with a)

a^0= a/a = 1
a^5=a^7/a^2 for example
but a is not equal to 0
