Rainbow is the phenomena which occurs with the help of rain drops in the atmosphere.

Light rays enter the rain drops by refraction. Then they are dispersed and internally reflected by the rain drops . Again by refraction dispersed light which is divided into 7 constituent colours move out of the rain drop.

Thus we can say that rainbow is combined effect of refraction, dispersion and total internal reflection.
