First of all not all non-metal oxides are acidic it needs to have more oxygen than the non-metal element for example CO is not acidic but N2O5 is acidic or CO2

You can throw the non-metal oxides in to a base solution if it's naturalize (means producing water and salt) than it's acidic

Or you can use litmus paper. It becomes blue with base and red with Acid
