proof:- ar. of the parallelogram abed = ar of the parallelgram drce ---------1

( see theorem:- it says two parallelgram will be equal if they have same base and are between to parallel lines)

also, (ar. means area)

ar. of ∆dce= 1/2 of ar. of parallelogram drce ---- 2

( since diagonal bisects the parallelgram into two equal traingles.

then from 1 and 2 we have

ar. of ∆dce= 1/2 of ar. of parallelogram abed
