hey
you can do this question by converting cos^2x into sin^2x
that is
1-sin^2x + tan^2x-1/sin^2x
the 1 will be canceled
and you will be left with tan^2x-sin^2x/sin^2x
now separate the numerator
that is
tan^2x/sin^2x-sin^2x/sin^2x
which will be equal to
sec^2x-1
which is equal to tan^2x

sriram77: ur welcome
sachin267: in denominator there is sin^2x then how it is proved as tan^2x
sachin267: ?????
sriram77: hey i seperated the numerator
sriram77: tan^2x/sin^2x
sriram77: if you convert tan into sin and cos
sriram77: sin will be canceled
sriram77: and you will be left with 1/cos^2x
sriram77: which is equal to sec^2x
