given abcd is a 11gm

we need to prove that area of ABCD is equal to area of efcd

In triangle ADE and triangle BCF

angle DAE is equal to angle CBF ( corresponding angles)

AD is equal to BC ( Opposite sides of 11gm)

angle AED is equal to angle BCF ( corresponding angles)

so , triangle ADE is congurent from triangle BCF ( by ASA rule )

therefore, ar ( ADE ) = (BCF) (congruent figures have equal area)

now ar (ABCD ) = ar (ADE )+ ar (EDCB)

ar ( BCF) + ar ( EDCB)

ar( EFCD)

hence proved
