Let _/5 is a rational no.
_/5 = p/ q , where p and q both are co- prime whose H.C.F. is 1
Now , _/ 5 = p/ q
On squaring both sides
p^ 2 = 5 q ^2
p ^2 = _5 q ^2

Now let another equation
p = 5m
put the value of p in equation ll
5 q ^2 = (5m )^2
q^2 = 25 m^2 by 5
q^2 = 5m ^2
