Step-by-step explanation:

To prove : tan x + 1/tanx = sec x cosec x

L.H.S = tan x + 1/tan x

=

 \frac{\tan^{2} x \:  + 1}{ \tan(x) }

=

\frac{  \sec^{2} x }{ \frac{ \sin(x) }{ \cos(x) } }

=

 \frac{   \sec^{2} x }{ \sin(x) }  \times  \cos(x)

= (1/ cos²x) ( cosec x) (cos x)

= sec x cosec x
