Proof:-

Let us take two numbers a and b such that a = b .

Now using this we will proceed further :

➤ a = b

Now , Multiplying both sides by a ,

➤ a × a = b × a.

➤ a² = ba .

Now , subtracting b² both sides ,

➤ a² - b² = ab - b².

➤ ( a + b ) ( a - b ) = b ( a - b ) .

Dividing both sides by ( a - b ) ,

➤ ( a + b )( a - b ) / ( a - b ) = b( a - b ) / ( a - b ) .

➤ a + b = b .

Now earlier we have assumed that a = b , so put a = b in the above equⁿ :

➤ a + a = a .

➤ 2a = a

Cancellation of a both sides ;

➤ 2 = 1 .

Now this can be written as ,

➤ 1 + 1 = 1.

Square both sides :-

➥ ( 1 + 1 ) ² = 1 ² .

Hence Proved.
