Let 1/√3 be a rational number.

therefore, 1/√3 = p/q, where p and q are co-prime

=> √3=q/p

p and q are co-prime

therefore q/p is rational.

But √3 is irrational which is a contradiction.

Therefore, 1/√3 is irrational
