To prove that : 1-_cos²x_ = sinx

1+sinx

[x=theta]

Proof:

LHS:

1 - _cos²x_

1+sinx. [sin²x + cos²x = 1]

1-_(1-sin²x)_

1+sinx

1-_(1+sinx)(1-sinx)_

1+sinx

_1+sinx-(1+sinx)(1-sinx)_

1+sinx

_1+sinx{1-(1-sinx)}_

1+sinx

1-1+sinx

sinx

Hence LHS=RHS
