cot²α = cosec²α - 1
1 + ( cosec²α - 1)/ 1 + cosecα
cosec²α - 1 can be written in the form of a identity (a+b) (a-b) = a²-b²
1 + [ (cosecα + 1) (cosecα - 1)]/ 1 + cosecα
1 + cosecα gets cancelled in the numerator and denominator :-
1 + (cosecα - 1) = cosecα
= RHS
proved.
