Sin² π/6 + cos²π/3 + tan² = 1/2

L.H.S

sin²30+ cos²60 + tan²

= (1/2)² + (1/2)² + tan²

1/4 + 1/4 - tan²

4 +4/4 - tan²

=2/1 - tan²

I think question is wrong

You did mistake .
Here, LHS is always positive
e.g sin^2{ \pi/6} + cos^2{ \pi/3} + tan^2{∅}  \geq 0
But RHS is negative
e.g RHS =- \frac{1}{2}

Hence,
LHS  \neq RHS
