Yes it is an irrational number . We can say due to the following proof:

ON finding the value of root3..we will get it equal to- 1.73214857.. and is never ending and so, it will never continue to terminate neither stop decimal expansion.

Therefore it is an irrational number and not a rational number.

suppose it is irrational

formula=a/b

a/b=2root 3+5

a/b×5=2root 3

a/b×5/2=root3

so we get a/b×5/2 is rational

root 3 is irrational
