Prove that √2 +√7 is an irrational number.

Hey!!!

Let us assume that root 2 + root 7 is rational,
we have, a and b as co-primes ,a/b where b is not equal to 0 

root 2 + root 7 = a/b
root 2 = a/b - root 7.....(1)

as root 2, a, b, and root 7 are rational nos
therefore, equation 1 is rational no
but, it contradicts the fact that root 2 and root 7 are irrational 
therefore our assumption was wrong 
thus, root 2 + root 7 is irrational no
