a and b are co primes

and b is not equal to 0

3+√5 = a divided by b

3-a by b=√5

rearrange

√5=-a divided by b = 3b+a divided by b

3b+a by b is rational

and √5 is irrational

hence contradiction is wrong 3+√5 is irrational
