Let us assume that 3+√2 is a rational number.
Hence, 3+√2 can be written in the form of p/q where HCF(p,q)=1

3+√2=p/q
√2=(p/q)+3
Hence, √2 is rational number.

But, these statement makes the contradiction arises.

Hence, 3+√2 is irrational
