Hey Mate ,

Here is the answer ,
______________________________________________________________

Let   3    be a rational number.
      √5

Multiply it with  1 .
                         3

 3   ₓ   1    =    1
√5      3         √5

1    is a rational number as product of two rational numbers is also rational.
√5

This contradicts the fact that √5 is irrational. Hence, our assumption is wrong and   is irrational .
       √5
                                                                                      Hence, proved.
