let us assume that 5+ underroot 3 is a rational number

5+underroot 3 = a/ b ( here a and b are coprime number)

underroot 3 = a/ b - 5

underroot 3 = a - 5b / b ( take LCM)

here (a - 5b/ b) is also a rational number

so our assumption is wrong

5 + underroot 3 is irrational number...
