Answer:

let us assume that root 5 bd a rational number

The rational no is in form of pand q means p/q , where p and q are integera so, root 5 = p/q

p=root 5 q

we know tha p is the rational no so root 5 q must be rational since it equals to p but it doesnt occurs with root 5 since its not an integer

therefore p= root 5 q

this condracts that fact root 5 is an irrational no hence our assumption is wrong and root5 is an irrational
