Let 5-2^1/2 be rational.

So, 5 - V2 = p/q , p and q are int. and q is nit equal to zero.

So, p/q - 5 = - V2

Since , LHS is rational and RHS is irrational

But this contradict to our supposition that 5 - V2 is rational.

So, 5 - V2 is irrational.
