Prove that 5+ V3 is irrational number.​

Let us assume that

5 +  \sqrt{3}

is a rational number

Therefore

5 +  \sqrt{3}  = \frac{x}{y}

where x/y is is a rational number and y is not equal to 0

5 =  \frac{x}{y}  - \sqrt{3}

but

 \frac{x}{y}  -  \sqrt{3}

is not a rational number

Therefore

5 +  \sqrt{3}

is not a rational number

Therefore our assumption was wrong

Hence it is a irrational number
