let theta = X (for typing convinince)
we know that cotX=cosX/sinX
hence cot²x-1/sin²x=(cos²x/sin²x)-1/sin²x
=>(cos²x-1)/sin²x=>-sin²x/sin²c=>-1
.
Hope this helps you.

= cos^2a÷sin^2a- 1÷sin^2a
= cos^2a-1÷sin^2a
= -sin^2a÷sin^2a
= -1
