Step-by-step explanation:

A = { 1, 2, .......,8} and B = {1, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 }

then A - B= { 2, 4} and B - A = {9}

: . A intersection B = { 1, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8} = X (Say)

A U X = {1, 2, 3, .....,8}

A intersection X = {1, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8}

A ∆ X = (A U X) - (A intersection X)

= {1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8} - { 1, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8}

= {2, 4 }

= A - B (Proved)
