aμc= aμb x bμc.

Proof:

This question is associated with Snell's Law in refraction.

RHS:

$\therefore \: _{a}\mu_{b} \times \: _{b}\mu_{c}$

$= \dfrac{v_{b}}{v_{a}} \times \dfrac{v_{c}}{v_{b}}$

$= \dfrac{v_{c}}{v_{a}}$

LHS:

$\therefore\:_{a}\mu_{c}$

$= \dfrac{v_{c}}{v_{a}}$

So, LHS = RHS , hence proved !
