since complete line is AC and B is point on it.

therefore, AC is divide into 2 parts AB&BC.

therefore, AC=AB+BC

Thus, if you draw a line AB with a point C lying on the segment AB between A and B, then according to segment addition postulate, AC + BC = AB. A postulate, however does not require any proof. It is always accepted true withoit any need of proof.

In geometry, the Segment Addition Postulate states that within given two points A and C, a third point B lies on the line segment AC if and only if the distances between the points satisfy the equation : AB + BC = AC.
