There's a regular pentagon in the middle of the star, which equals 180 x 5-2

 Each angle is then ( ( 5 – 2 ) x 180 ) ÷ 5  =  108.

Now look at the isosceles l triangle (the leg of the star). Its equal angles are 180–108 = 72.

The remaining angle is then 180–72–72 = 36.

We have five of those.

36 x 5 = 180.

Therefore it is proved!
