To prove:− Area of triangle=1/2×base×height
Proof:− Draw a parallelogram ABCD having diagonal AC and altitude AL.
As we know area of the parallelogram=base × altitude=CD×AL
the diagonal of parallelogram , divides it in two equalparts
So, area of triangle ABC= area of triangle ADC=1/2(area of the parallelogram,ABCD)
⇒area of triangle ADC=1/2×CD×AL
⇒area of triangle ADC=1/2×base×height
