Ideal Gas

To Prove

d = PM / RT

Proof

The equation of Ideal Gas is

PV = nRT

where

  • P = Pressure
  • V = Volume
  • n = Number of Moles
  • R = Real Gas Constant
  • T = Temperature

Solving,

PV = nRT

n = Given Mass / Molar Mass

PV = w / M × R × T

PV / RT = w / M

PM / RT = w / V

d = density = Mass / Volume

PM / RT = d

Hence, Proved.

here

  • w is Given Mass and

  • M is Molar Mass

Note :-

Ideal Gas Equation can be applied only for Ideal Gas not for the Real Gas. Thus, the proved formula is only applicable to Ideal Gas.

Answer:

d=PM/RT

Explanation:

let

P=presure

M=molar mass

m=mass

n=no. of moles

R=general gas constant

T=temperature

Solution:

So,

we know that

PV=nRT                        n=mass/molar mass

so

PV=m/M*R*T

PV/RT=m/M

PM/RT=m/V                  d=m/V

PM/RT=d

hence proved that

d=PM/RT
