look,

This is is because the oxygen in ethanol has lone electron pairs capable of accepting protons, and thus ethanol can act as a weak base. Summary - TL/DR: As ethanol has the ability to both donate and accept protons, it should be considered an amphoteric compound with respect to Brønsted–Lowry acid-base theory.

hope helps you!!!

BrainlyRonaldo: brainliest plzzz

1. Ethanol reacts with Acid to neutralise to form Ester and water.
C<sub>2</sub>H<sub>5</sub>OH+CH<sub>3</sub>COOH ------(conc. H<sub>2</sub>SO<sub>4</sub>)-----> CH<sub>3</sub>COOC<sub>2</sub>H<sub>5</sub> + H<sub>2</sub>O
2. Ethanol reacts with Base (NaOH) to neutralise and form Sodium Ethoxide and Water.
C<sub>2</sub>H<sub>5</sub>OH + NaOH ------> C<sub>2</sub>H<sub>5</sub>ONa + H<sub>2</sub>O
