If a/b = p/q,then a/p=b/q is true.

Given:

a/b = p/q

To Prove:

if a/b = p/q,then a/p=b/q

Solution:

We are required to prove a/p=b/q if a/b = p/q.

a/b = p/q --------(1)

  • Here, LHS and RHS are in the division so the denominator of LHS is taken to the numerator of RHS.
  • The numerator of RHS is taken to the denominator of LHS.
  • We have to swap places of b and q in equation(1), and we get

⇒ a/p = b/q

Hence proved.

Therefore, If a/b = p/q,then a/p=b/q is true.
